Ranger program, cookout and a movie at Camp Helen State Park June 25

Camp Helen State Park is offering a movie, food, and fun with a family-oriented movie, environmental interpretive program, and old-fashioned campfire cookout. The event will start at 5:30 p.m. in the recreation hall with an interpretive program led by a Florida Park ranger. Perdido Key beach mice arrive at E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center

There are two new residents at the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center, and they are cute as can be. Two federally endangered Perdido Key beach mice (Peromyscus polionotus tryssyllepsis), have arrived at the Center to join in on the Center’s educational programs. Named Twix and Crunch, the two males have been in a captive breeding program by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and were used to help re-establish the population at Gulf State Park on Perdido Key in 2011. TESLA vehicle charging stations coming to DeFuniak Springs

On June 9, 2014 the DeFuniak Springs City Council approved a request by TESLA Motors to install and equip six vehicle charging stations within the city limits. TESLA Motors is an American company based out of Palo Alto, California that designs, manufactures, and sells high-performance electric vehicles.
