South Walton Community Council hosting annual beach clean up July 5

Time: 7 – 9 a.m. South Walton Community Council is hosting their annual July 5th beach cleanup along several South Walton beach accesses. Water, gloves and trash bags will be provided by the SWCC. In addition, SWCC is looking for coordinators at the access points to greet the beach access volunteers, pass out water, bags and gloves and record how many bags were collected. Panhandle Watermelon Festival coming to Chipley June 27-28

The 58th Annual Panhandle Watermelon Festival will be coming to Chipley on June 27-28, 2014. Spend the weekend enjoying a multitude of activities in traditional southern fashion. Red Bay Grocery and Nick’s Seafood Restaurant presented their 6th Annual Bream World Championships on Sat., June 14 at Red Bay Grocery. It was a great turn out with 17 teams competing in various categories including biggest bream, total weight of six bream, heaviest stringer, largest non-bream species, and junior angler.
