North Walton

Every Friday and Saturday night in October and Oct. 31Freakshow, 852 Baldwin Ave., DeFuniak Springs from 7 – 10 p.m. each night. Get your fright night terror fix and brace yourself for a night of heart-pounding scares, spine-chilling surprises, and hair-raising screams. All ages welcome, but ages 13+ recommended. Month of October at Alaqua Animal Refuge – Pumpkin patch open Tuesdays – Sundays from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and special events every Sunday from 12 – 3 p.m. with hayrides, food trucks, and meet the farm animals at Alaqua Animal Refuge. 155 Dugas Way, Freeport 32439. Jolly Bay Farm in Freeport hosting family fun every Saturday in October – The Jolly Bay Farm in Freeport are opening their gates every Saturday in October 2023. The farm will be open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 238 Fluffy Landing Road, Freeport. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 3 and up. Kids and adults will enjoy horses, cows, pigs, donkey, chickens, pigeons, quail, peacocks, bunnies, crafts, pumpkin path, a farm tour, and food trucks.

Oct. 28 – Trunk or treat and the movie Hocus Pocus hosted by the City of Freeport at the Freeport Regional Sports Complex at 5 p.m. Free. Movie starts at sunset. Freeport Regional Sports Complex is located at 563 Hammock Trail E, Freeport, FL 32439. For more information call 850-835-2822.

Oct. 31Trick or Treat and Costume contest hosted by The DeFuniak Springs Business and Professional Assoc. on Baldwin Ave., DeFuniak Springs on Oct. 31, 2023. The event will be from 5 -7 p.m. and include a costume contest for various age brackets. Registration for the contest will be at 4 p.m. with judging at 4:30 p.m. and be held across from Creative Styling. Trick or treat from local shops on Baldwin. South Walton

Pumpkin Patch pumpkins and more daily from 9 am – 4 pm at Camp Helen State Park throughout October. On Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., the patch will have various entertainment.
This year, Saturdays in the Patch will feature: Nature Day (wildlife crafts, interpretive programs, educational games), a fishing expo for kids, face painting, a haunted history tour, live music,
including Huck and Lily, food trucks, and other games and crafts.

Saturday, October 7: Fishing workshop with Bay Breeze Bait and Tackle (kids will lean about
fishing in Lake Powell-great for adults too), face painting, Taco 30A Food Truck, live music, crafts,
games.
Saturday, October 14: Haunted History Tour, Live music, crafts, games.
Saturday, October 21: Huck and Lily, face painting, crafts, games.
Saturday, October 28: Pumpkin patch will be open with Trail bingo and yard games.
Gelato Love will be in the patch on Saturdays and Sundays.

Camp Helen is located at 23937 Panama City Beach Parkway, Panama City Beach, FL, just west of the Phillips Inlet bridge on the Bay County and Walton county line. Oct. 26 – Barktoberfest at 585 Grand Blvd., Suite 205, Miramar Beach 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Join the spooky costume doggie social, benefiting Dog-Harmony, for music, beer and light bites. The best costumes will be announced at 6:15 p.m. Please, no prong, shock or choke collars. This event is free and open to the public. For more information call 850-837-3099.

Oct. 28 – Halloweener Derby in Seaside will be held on Sat., Oct. 28, 2023 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the Lyceum Lawn. Costume contest follows dachshund race. The Lyceum Lawn is located at 42 Smolian Circle, Santa Rosa Beach.
Click here to preregister your dachshund for this year’s race and your dog for the all-breeds costume contest. Please note all dogs will need to be checked in at the registration tent prior to competing in the derby or costume contest.

Oct. 31 – Trick or Treat in Seaside from 4 – 6 p.m. An evening with ghoulish music, scary delicious treats and more. Seaside Amphitheater is located at Central Square, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.

Oct. 31 – Trick or treat at The Village of Baytowne Wharf, Sandestin. 6 – 8 p.m. Calling all ghouls, ghosts, and goblins to the Village of Baytowne Wharf for a spooktacular extravaganza. Trick or treat through the Village streets and visit merchants for your favorite treat. Steve Hall will play frighteningly good tunes on the main stage. Be sure to stop by Coconut Kidz to enter the costume contest and compete to win the grand prize. End the night with a spooky fireworks display at 8 pm. The Village of Baytowne Wharf is located at 9100 Baytowne Blvd., Miramar Beach.
