Main Street DeFuniak Springs will host its annual holiday events, Merry Main Street, presented in partnership with Visit South Walton. Beginning Saturday, November 26, 2022 – Saturday, December 17, 2022, the free events will include live music and performances, the weekly outdoor Mistletoe Market, festive Food Truck Friday, rides on the Choctaw Express Train, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, kids character appearances, and more family fun – all taking place in historic downtown DeFuniak Springs.
Fittingly, Merry Main Street will begin on November 26, 2022, in celebration of Small Business Saturday, an annual holiday shopping tradition — just one part of the larger Shop Small Movement that supports small businesses every day and everywhere. For the support of its community and putting small businesses first, Main Street DeFuniak Springs has been designated a Neighborhood Champion by American Express.
The weekly Mistletoe Market will take place November 26, December 3, December 10, and December 17 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Taking place on Baldwin Avenue between S. 7th and S. 8th St., the market will showcase gift ideas, delicious treats, and unique finds catered to the holiday season.
During the Saturday, November 26 Mistletoe Market a fundraising raffle will be held by the First National Bank’s OB McClintock four-sided chime clock on the corner of Baldwin Avenue and S. 7th St. for children interested in winning a chance to turn on the Christmas tree with Santa. Santa will draw the lucky child’s name around 5:00 p.m., and the lighting of the tree will signify the official beginning of the holiday season in the City of DeFuniak Springs.
Weekly Mistletoe Market happenings will include pictures with Santa & Mrs. Claus in front of the Baldwin Avenue Christmas Tree and kids character appearances at The Opinion Place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., evening rides downtown on the Choctaw Express Train, live music, and special performances.
In addition to their regularly scheduled second Friday Food Truck Friday event, Main Street DeFuniak Springs will host a collection of local and regional food trucks and trailers the first and third Fridays in December from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
