A major improvement project is in the works at Culpepper Landing along Holmes Creek in Washington County. The project is being funded by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) through the Florida Boating Improvement Program (FBIP) with funding matched by Washington County. The project is being paid for with FWC 75% and Washington County 25% and the canoe / kayak launch area is being paid for by only Washington County.
The project consists of replacing the boat ramp, constructing new boarding docks, and organizing the boat trailer parking lot with a paved access road with parking spaces and gravel parking for 28 boat trailers. Click here for diagram of improvements: CulpepperConst
The boat ramp and loading docks are being built by Hall Construction and parking lot improvements and stormwater pond are being done by Washington County.
The project is expected to be completed by mid-April 2022.
