Go birding, learn about wildlife with Bay County Audubon Society. Upcoming events, presentations, and field trips and more with Bay County Audubon Society in March and April 2024.  Field trips are subject to the weather. No rain dates have been scheduled. March 11: Meet in person in the St. Andrews Episcopal Church Parish Hall at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month, September-May. Informal socializing starts at 6:30 p.m., routine business announcements at 6:45 p.m., and program begins at 7:00 p.m. Gail Casteel presents on her recent trip to the country of Panama, same name but different game. The church hall is located at 607 Baker Ct. Panama City, FL 32401.

Saturday, March 16:  Birding and wildflower viewing at Florida Caverns State Park.  Meet in the large parking lot in front of the visitor center at 8:30-8:45 a.m.

Saturday, March 23:  Bird walk to PCB Conservation Park 7:30 a.m.  100 Conservation Drive, Panama City Beach, FL 32413

Saturday, April 6: Bay County Audubon Society celebrates its “Nature Connection 2024”  Visit Nature Connection on their website www.baycountyaudubon.org for ticket information.
Bay County Audubon Society will celebrate its third “Nature Connection 2024” Special Program main event on April 6 headlining with safari guide and naturalist Tom Nkwazi. “Big Tom” as he is known in his native country of Botswana, in southern Africa, is a fully licensed professional safari guide of 15 years. Also scheduled to present is Noah Strycker, who has extensively studied and lived with birds, particularly penguins, as his authorship of six books will attest. Both presenters will tell you, with their truly remarkable breadth and depth of experience, their personal stories of what they have observed and learned about the current state of nature in our changing world and be available for questions surrounding these critical issues.

The event will be held at Holley Center- Florida State University, 4750 Collegiate Dr, Panama City, FL 32405. For specific questions call Brian Dusseault at 850-832-7579.  

April 14-18:  Field trip to High Island, Texas and surrounding area.

Saturday, April 20:  Earth Day at Oaks by the Bay Park in St. Andrews 9:00 – 1:00 p.m.  2715 W 10th St, Panama City, FL 32401

Saturday, April 27:  Spring bird migrant field trip to St. George Island State Park near Apalachicola.  Arrive there by 9:00 a.m. eastern time (8:00 a.m. central time)
