Holiday events, markets and Santa sightings in north and south Walton

Lots of holiday fun in store for the 2023 Christmas season across north and south Walton County.

Nov. 24 – Dec. 31 – Christmas Reflections in DeFuniak Springs – 5 – 9 p.m.
Enjoy a holiday family tradition that is a delight to all ages as the City lights up Chipley Park with the annual Christmas Reflection displays. A variety of Victorian, animal, and toy soldier cutouts, Santa’s workshop, and the grandfather clock ticking away are among the thousands of decorations that adorn these historic grounds. This event is orchestrated and hosted by the City of DeFuniak Springs. Open 7 days a week, 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. The last car is at 9 pm.  Lights are out by 9:30 pm. Admission: $5 per person. Dec. 10 – CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER – Holiday bazaar at Alaqua Animal Refuge
Get into the holiday spirit and find something special for everyone on your list at the Alaqua Holiday Bazaar on December 10 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will showcase an array of handcrafted gifts from the finest local artists and craftsmen. Along with the shopping experience, visitors can enjoy festive music and savor delicious brunch-style treats, making holiday shopping an absolute delight.
Alaqua Animal Refuge is located off SR20 at 155 Dugas Way, Freeport, FL 32439

Dec. 16 –  Freeport Christmas parade – 5:15 p.m.
The parade starts at Freeport Elementary, then goes to Business 331, S.R. 20 to Blueberry Road. Enjoy live music, food vendors, photos with Santa, and the Festival of Trees. Click here if you are interested in participating the parade or need more information.
