Witches of South Walton ride again Oct. 31

The Witches of South Walton, an organization dedicated to supporting the Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN), with their mission, is hosting the 14th Annual Witch Ride on Tuesday, October 31st at 6:30am. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 the morning of the ride, which includes a charity bike ride from Gulf Place to Stinky’s Fish Camp and ending with a Gathering Brunch at La Playa in Gulf Place. Plein air workshop offered as part of Flutterby Festival Nov. 10

Cultural Arts Alliance is hosting a Plein Air painting workshop with local painter Joan Vienot on Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Watersound Origins. The Department of Environmental Protection’s Florida Park Service announces the closure of 18 state parks in Northwest Florida due to imminent weather conditions including strong winds and rain. Bent Rod Fishing Club hosts annual fish fry

The Bent Rod Fishing Club of DeFuniak Springs hosted their annual fish fry at Cat Island Park on Oct. 6. More than 15 attendees enjoyed fried catfish, trout, and bream, along with a variety of tasty sides and desserts. October outdoor movies at Eden Gardens State Park

The Friends of Eden Gardens State Park are hosting three films under the oaks on Thursdays in October.  Films are free, with paid park admission.  Chairs, blankets, and coolers are welcome.  There will also be a small concession stand serving popcorn, candy, and drinks.
