Barley’s Monster Mash mountain bike race at Pine Log State Forest Oct. 28

Join in on the mountain bike fun at Barley’s Monster Mash 3-hour and 6-hour Mountain Bike Race at Pine Log State Forest. The event is presented by Hammer Down Multisport and includes a great single track race through Florida’s First established State Forest in Ebro, Florida. Locals get old fishing spots back along U.S. Hwy. 331 causeway

After concerns were raised by local fishermen about the inability to fish from the 331 bridge causeway after the construction of the new U.S. Hwy 331 bridge, Walton County Commissioner Comander worked with staff and the FDOT to seek an arrangement whereby the FDOT would allow parts of the causeway to be reopened for fishing. Health advisory issued for Bayshore Drive area in the Choctawhatchee Bay

DeFuniak Springs, Fla. – Due to a sewage spill, the Florida Department of Health in Walton County (DOH-Walton) is issuing a health advisory for the Bayshore Drive and surrounding areas in the Choctawhatchee Bay.  This health advisory is also issued for the unnamed lake off Forest Shore Drive.
