Lots of crappie being caught in the lower end of the river
Bay: Lots and lots of redfish being caught on live shrimp, menhaden and Berkley Gulp shrimp. Speckled trout being caught, a few Spanish mackerel and some grouper in the west end of the bay.
Fresh: Lots of crappie being caught, as good as it can get. Some shellcracker being caught as well.
Gulf: Mostly weekend trips folks going out and catching red snapper. Folks are saying you can’t catch a grouper for all the red snapper out there.
Danny Copeland wants to remind folks that the resident shoreline license is free. Come on by!
Hunting: Bow season opened on Wildlife Management areas and on Eglin Reservation last week. Lots of hunters didn’t know that as it was not published in the FWC book, only the WMAs and Eglin books. State and private land opens Oct. 23.
