Bay: Abundance of speckled trout being caught with light colored Zoom tiny flukes and light colored super flukes, Electric chickens and hard bait. Great time for using standard floating lures. Some folks catching a fish every time the cast.
Fresh: Mostly crappie along with some large stripers and some hybrids being caught near the mouth of the Choctawhatchee River..

Hunting: Early signs of deer rut, but nothing much. General gun season open through Feb. 20. Don’t forget you need a $5 deer license!

Muzzleloading Gun Season: Dec. 4–10 and Feb. 21–27 – Antlered deer only by muzzleloader, crossbow or bow
General Gun Season: Dec. 11 – Feb. 20
Antlered deer entire season; antlerless deer may be taken Dec. 26 – Jan. 1 by all legal center fire rifles and pistols, shot guns, muzzleloaders, crossbows and bows
