Walton County fishing report for Jan. 8 – Over the top!

Fishing is great! Fishing was over the top at Hogtown Bayou on Jan. 8. The cold snap drove the small baitfish into the bayou and behind it came good size speckled trout and redfish. Fishermen were reeling in as fast as they could cast a line on the bayou. Choctawhatchee Bay: Cold snap had net casters reeling in large catches of mullet. Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance hosting Shelves to Shores learning project at Coastal Branch Library

The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA) and Walton County’s Coastal Branch Library will kick off their “From Shelves to Shores: Winter Reading Challenge” on January 23, with the start of a 5-month service-learning project for local children. Once a month, CBA will host an activity for children at the Coastal Branch Library in South Walton.
