Ranger program, cookout and a movie at Camp Helen State Park July 23

Camp Helen State Park is offering a movie, food, and fun with a family-oriented movie, environmental interpretive program, and old-fashioned campfire cookout. The event will start at 5:30 p.m. in the recreation hall with an interpretive program led by a Florida Park ranger. Morrison Springs now safe for swimming

Water now safe for swimming, diving Effective immediately, the Florida Department of Health in Walton County is rescinding the April 29, 2014 swim advisory for the Morrison Springs bathing place. DOH Walton feels that water quality in this area has improved considerably due to the reduction in bacteria levels. Point Washington State Forest now offers primitive camping

The Point Washington State Forest now offers camping opportunities near Eastern Lake. The four primitive sites boast a 14’x20′ tent pad, picnic table, barbecue grill, fire ring, lantern hanger, and a self composting toilet serving the campsite area. The sites are nestled in a high and dry area of sand pines and palmettos. Just a few steps away is a stunning view of Eastern Lake.
