Seacrest Wolf Preserve offers weekend of wildlife encounters
Camp out with the wolves at The Oaks Farm in Chipley, Florida and enjoy a unique experience. The weekend long Howl-O-Ween camping events offers learning and fun along with wolf encounters at the Seacrest Wolf Preserve.
Gates open 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22 for campers. Camping near the wolves requires reservation in advance with deposit. Unlimited primitive camping with limited electrical hook-ups.
Events: Sat., Oct. 23, 2010 – 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sun., Oct. 24, – 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Hands-on wolf encounter tours starting at 10 a.m., running every 90 minutes, with the last one at 4 p.m. Saturday, 2:30 p.m. On Sunday you can become part of one of the Seacrest Wolf Packs! Small Animal Adventures allow you to hug the skunks, feed the raccoons, pet the 2010 wolf pups, and play with the Arctic fox. There will be special appearances by Mr. Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood, and a Dog-O-Ween costume contest will be held at 3 p.m. on Satu. Marcia Johnston, Buffalo Woman Flute Music, will honor us with an appearance as she represents the Choctaw nation. She will serenade with her beautiful flute performance at 1 p.m. on Sat., Storytelling at the Bonfire Sat. evening along with a haunted hayride.
