The Walton County Tourist Development Council has just completed a new regional beach access in Santa Rosa Beach. Located in the Dune Allen area on the west end of Scenic Hwy. 30 A the new access includes 18 parking spots, bike racks, golf cart parking, restroom facilities and a lifeguard station. The 1.51-acre property has 220 feet of beachfront and was purchased for $7.4 million in 2016.
Two more regional beach accesses are expected to open in 2020, in Miramar Beach and Seagrove Beach. This will bring the total number of regional beach access points from eight to 11 in South Walton.
Since August 2016, the TDC has purchased seven parcels for a total of 748 feet of beachfront to be used as regional access points. The new access points come with upscale amenities funded and maintained by tourism revenue.
