The Special Events Committee of the City of DeFuniak Springs will sponsor May Movie Night on Friday evening, May 13, 2016, at the amphitheatre in the Lakeyard on Circle Drive in DeFuniak Springs. The event will be from 7:30 – 10 p.m.
The featured film will be How To Train Your Dragon, the Dreamworks production released in 2010 to rave reviews, huge audiences and multiple award nominations. This PG-rated, American produced film is a 3D animated action film featuring the well known actors, Gerard Butler and America Ferrera, along with a host of delightful dragons and Vikings. They all live in a mythical Viking world where dragons are real and life is fantastic – literally!
The film will be shown free of charge on the big screen beginning at around sunset. Everyone is invited to come downtown early to enjoy the beauty of Lake DeFuniak and partake of excellent street food fare provided by Neighbors Kitchen. There will be a drawing for special prizes and chances to win will be given with each food purchase.
The amphitheatre has recently been outfitted with new seating and attendees will enjoy the added comfort. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the community center on N. Tenth Street – same date, same time, same movie, same fun!
As always, this event is provided free of charge through the efforts of the City of DeFuniak Springs and the Special Events Committee. For further information, contact city hall at 850-892-8500.
