The Swamp Off Road Park
Some folks say you are never too old to play in the mud. If you are into four-wheeling, The Swamp Off Road Park in Chipley has just what the doctor ordered.
The 55-acre park is owned by father and son team Charles ‘Bode’ and Pop Bode. The Bodes’ get a good bit of help managing the park from the Southern Attitude Crawlers, a local group of 4-wheeling Jeep enthusiasts. Open since 2014, the park is open to all types of 4-wheel vehicles. You must bring your own vehicle.
“We wanted to have a place where 4x4s can go legally, and a place that is family friendly” said Bode.
The park offers challenges for every skill level from mild to wild. The obstacle course called the Mud Pit is typically wet, muddy and provides beginner to intermediate challenges with small hills, tire and log obstacles. Throughout the park there are bigger challenges such as Shannon’s Shootout, and the Bounty Hole – a deep muddy bog only one person has successfully completed to date.
