Grady Brown Park to Remain Open Until after Labor Day
Due to the efforts of Commissioner Boots McCormick and in response to concerns from the community, Phase III Improvements to Grady Brown Park will be rescheduled to take place after Labor Day. The site contractor will be prepared to mobilize and begin the planned improvements after the Labor Day weekend. Phase III of the planned park improvements which will consist of the installation of approximately 340 linear feet of retaining wall and paths, dredging of the existing boat basin and channel, installation of channel markers, groin construction, renourishment/expansion of the beach area and construction of an 80’ flagpole are now scheduled to commence after Labor Day. Grady Brown Park is located north of the Clyde B. Wells Bridge at the intersection of Bay Grove Road and U.S. 331.
Walton County intends to close Grady Brown Park starting March 3 – August 8, 2022 for Phase III park improvements. The park is located north of the Clyde B. Wells Bridge at the intersection of Bay Grove Road and US 331. Phase III improvements at the park will consist of constructing approximately 340 linear feet of additional retaining wall and paths, dredging of the existing basin and channel, installation of channel markers, construction of a groin, renourishment/expansion of the beach area, and construction of an 80’ flag-pole.
