Step back in time with a day of pioneer reenactment
Saturday, Nov 6th – 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Department of Environmental Protection’s Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park will host the Friends of the Emerald Coast State Parks Annual Pioneer Day. Experience a day of authentic pioneer activities to include period artisans, demonstrating spinning, weaving, soap making, butter churning and other pioneer skills. Dip candles, make rag dolls and try your skill with a saw. Guest speakers will be Dr. Brian Rucker and Raymond Melvin who will give talks on the Pioneer Life in the Florida Panhandle. A rain date will be set for Sunday, November 7th, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. For more information call the park office.

Directions: From the west: Take I-10 east to Highway 85, travel south until you reach Highway 20. Go east on Highway 20. Park will be approximately five miles on the left. From the east: Take I-10 west to Highway 331. Travel south until you reach Highway 20. Go west on Highway 20 approximately 25 miles until you see signs for park on right.
