Enjoy a guided canoe or kayak tour of Lake Powell June 19

Hosted by Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance, Discover Roads Less Traveled eco-tours will introduce you to some very special places in South Walton.

We will meet at the Watersound Village Common area and caravan to the Watersound dock on the Western Horn of Lake Powell. Discussion topics will include dune lake dynamics, local history centering on Camp Helen, forestry activities. We will follow the shore till we hit the Gulf. Paddle is around 4 miles round-trip.

Moderate or higher exertion level, depending on wind conditions. Participants are asked to bring at least a quart of water, snacks if desired, forecast-compatible clothing and personal comfort items (i.e. sunscreen, bug spray, etc.).

Canoe rental is included in the $30 cost. If you bring your own canoe/kayak, pay $20 for the tour.

All events subject to cancellation. In the case of inclement weather, registrants will be notified by email or phone the afternoon/evening prior, and fees will be fully refunded.

Individual cancellations will be accepted and fully refunded up to 1 full business day (24 hours) prior to the tour. No-shows forfeit entire payment.
