The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Division of Parks and Recreation (DRP) has completed amenity improvements at Deer Lake State Park.
The project included a paved access road into the park, 40+ parking spaces, six golf cart parking spaces, two oversized vehicle spaces and a bike rack for visitors. Improvements also include two picnic shelters with grills, restroom facilities, landscaping of native plants and connections to necessary utilities, such as water, sewer and electric.
Native vegetation was also planted in and around stormwater retention areas and areas which were disturbed during construction. This will restore the natural ecosystem, including providing food and habitat and food for native wildlife, as well as reduce sediment erosion.
A boardwalk across the dunes offers easy access to the beach where visitors can picnic, swim and fish and offers ADA access to the beach. The boardwalk also offers a spectacular view of the dune ecosystem, one of 11 natural communities found in the park.
Park entry fee $3.00 per vehicle. Please use the honor box to pay fees. Correct change is required. Limit 8 people per vehicle.
Driving Directions: The park is located at 6350 E. County Road 30-A
