Partners in Progress announces its 2011 Annual Tour of Homes for Saturday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The theme for the 2011 tour is: “Exploring History in DeFuniak Springs.”
For the Victorians, the romance of the Christmas season was the tradition that endured year after year. Decorating for the holidays was perhaps the most universally practiced tradition of all. Not only will this year’s participating sites be elaborately dressed for the Christmas season, but they will also have a story to tell.
In recognition of DeFuniak Springs’ rich heritage, Partners in Progress will spotlight historic homes/sites with interpreters sharing the history at each site. In order to accommodate the historic narratives within the time allowed, it is necessary to reduce the number of sites on the tour.
Tickets will be on sale the day of the tour Saturday, Dec.3, from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., at the DeFuniak Springs Visitors Center. Adults: $15 (includes 7 percent sales tax); children under 12: $6 (includes 7 percent sales tax); Babes in arms free. Please note: As an added incentive to encourage students to learn more about the history of DeFuniak Springs, student group rates will be available for $5.00 per student to 10 or more students visiting as a group.
