Plans are to reopen by end of May

The Cessna Park boat ramp on County Road 393 at Hogtown Bayou in South Walton County has been closed for scheduled improvements that will be a big benefit for fishermen and boaters.  The project consists of the removal of the existing ramp, construction of a new ramp and new loading dock on both sides of the ramp. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of May with the goal of opening the new ramp prior to Memorial Day weekend – weather permitting.

Cessna Park is maintained by the South Walton Tourist Development Council beach maintenance crew.  The Cessna boat ramp is the busiest ramp in South Walton and the TDC is working diligently with contractors to complete the project on time.  In the meantime, boaters are encouraged to use the boat ramp on US Hwy 331 at the base of the Clyde B.
