Grady Brown Park to reopen May 1

The Walton County Board of County Commissioners will host a grand reopening ceremony for Grady Brown Park on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 10:00 am. Visitors to the park will find a larger beach area, a new, extended retaining wall, an 80-foot lit flagpole, and well-defined navigation for vessels, among other improvements. New ADA boardwalk and dock in the works at Camp Helen State Park

New construction of a 142 ft. dock and switchback ADA boardwalk are in the works at Camp Helen State Park. The new dock will sport six boat slips and an ADA fishing platform. The boardwalk will be adjacent to the existing steps near the lodge area, and will be connected to the dock. The project will be completed after the first of the year. Deer Lake State Park improvements complete, park now open

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Division of Parks and Recreation (DRP) has completed amenity improvements at Deer Lake State Park. The project included a paved access road into the park, 40+ parking spaces, six golf cart parking spaces, two oversized vehicle spaces and a bike rack for visitors.
