Updated restrooms in the works at Ponce DeLeon Springs State Park

New restroom expansion is in the works at Ponce DeLeon Springs State Park. The restroom addition project at the park will add two new family restrooms, along with updated sewer infrastructure. This project is designed to accommodate the growing number of visitors, as attendance at this park has more than doubled since 2019. Thousands of invasive Asian Clams die off in the Choctawhatchee River

This summer has been hot, and the river has been low for several weeks. Fishing has been good, however one invasive clam that exists on the Choctawhatchee River has not been doing so well. Hundreds, if not thousands of dead Asian Clams (Corbicula fluminea) have been spotted floating en mass and washed up on the banks of the lower River.
