Bald eagles continue to thrive in Walton County and across Florida

Florida’s eagle population now exceeds 4,000 birds each year Bald eagles have been spotted in several locations in South Walton and along the Choctawhatchee Bay. It is great news that these splendid raptors are making Walton County their nesting home. Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance hosting Shelves to Shores learning project at Coastal Branch Library

The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA) and Walton County’s Coastal Branch Library will kick off their “From Shelves to Shores: Winter Reading Challenge” on January 23, with the start of a 5-month service-learning project for local children. Once a month, CBA will host an activity for children at the Coastal Branch Library in South Walton.
