Youth waterfowl hunting days are Feb. 5-6, 2011

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service established Feb. 5-6 as Youth Waterfowl Hunting Days. These select days are a great opportunity to get young people outdoors and to introduce them to the excitement of waterfowl hunting. Speckled trout fishing has been great! Bay: Abundance of speckled trout being caught with light colored Zoom tiny flukes and light colored super flukes.  Some sheepshead being caught. Icy cold conditions in the bayous making it easy to snag mullet as they gather up. Fresh: Mostly crappie along with some large stripers and some hybrids being caught near the mouth of the Choctawhatchee River.
