Prescribed Burn in South Walton February 10

The Florida Division of Forestry (DOF) will be conducting a 180 acre prescribed burn today, February 10, 2010, at the intersection of US Highway 98 East and County Highway 283 (Southeast corner).  The burn will take place today between 8:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Due to the prevailing wind direction out of the northeast, smoke will be visible in areas of South Walton and will drift in a southerly direction.   As always, the South Walton Fire District is monitoring the...

Chat Holley Road bridge construction

Only outlets are J.D. Miller Road and CR 393 Walton County Public Works crews are working on replacing the bridge located on the east end of Chat Holley Road between Pisces Drive and Taurus Drive. Weather permitting, construction will be completed by the end of April. During this time drivers are being asked to use J.D. Miller Road and N. CR 393 as alternate routes.
