Alaqua Animal Refuge is offering the 2015 Hunks and Hounds calendar to benefit the refuge. Animal lovers can now pre-purchase the much anticipated calendar at hunksandhounds.com for $24.99. On September 1, 2014, the calendar will be available for $29.99 on the website as well as south Walton area retail stores. The calendar is set to be printed in October. Cathy Potter is our very deserving Animal Hero of the Month for July. Cathy works two full days a week in our “SVU” unit. The SVU unit is for smaller dogs, some with medical issues. Cathy has volunteered with Alaqua for just over two years and has no plans to leave. TESLA vehicle charging stations coming to DeFuniak Springs

On June 9, 2014 the DeFuniak Springs City Council approved a request by TESLA Motors to install and equip six vehicle charging stations within the city limits. TESLA Motors is an American company based out of Palo Alto, California that designs, manufactures, and sells high-performance electric vehicles.
