FWC sets 2013 Gulf recreational red snapper season in state waters to 44 days

Season to run June 1 – July 14 The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) approved a 44-day recreational red snapper season for Gulf of Mexico state waters at its meeting April 17 in Tallahassee. Fishing is great! Choctawhatchee Bay: Trout and redfish biting on shrimp. Further to the east of us folks are reeling in flounder biting on bull minnows. 
Creeks/river: Nice reports of shellcracker starting to bite along with good reports of bass in the area ponds. In shore: The cobia bite has been the best in five years.
