Gulf County Bay Scallop Season Aug. 17 – Sept. 30

The 2018 scallop season will be open August 17 to September 30, 2018. This season opening includes all state waters (shore to 9 nautical miles) from the Mexico Beach Canal in Bay County through the westernmost point of St. Vincent Island in Franklin County. All other regulations apply, including a daily bag limit of 2 gallons of whole bay scallops in shell or 1 pint of bay scallop meat per person, with a maximum of 10 gallons of whole bay...

Annual Kids Catfish tournament another one for the books

Another great Kids Catfish tournament is in the books. Treylermade Tournament hosted 46 entries into the tournament at Nick’s Seafood Restaurant July 21, 2018. The tournament benefited ‘Backpacks of Love’ and Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance Grasses in Classes. Kids fished in hardhead and sailcat divisions with the Hardhead Division total weight of three hardhead catfish. The top prize was a Jon boat by Tracker Marine with trolling motor, safety gear, and accessories, with 2nd – 5th places receiving prizes and medals....

Free women’s and adult saltwater fishing clinics in Panama City Beach July 28, 29

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is hosting a Women’s Saltwater Fishing Clinic on July 28 and an Adult Saltwater Fishing Clinic on July 29, both in Panama City Beach. The free, day-long clinics are from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at St. Andrews State Park, 4607 State Park Lane. Advance registration is required.
