Hands Across the Sand coming to Santa Rosa Beach Aug. 4

The global movement “Hands Across the Sand” will be gathering at Noon on Aug. 4 to bring awareness of the dangers of offshore drilling. Locally, the gathering will be at 12 Noon along the beach in Seaside and at Ed Walline Park at the south end of CR393 in Santa Rosa Beach. Volunteers needed for South Walton beach clean up July 5

The South Walton Community Council invites locals and visitors to participate in the annual July 5 beach clean-up. The cleanup efforts will take place from 7-9 a.m. Volunteers will provide bags, gloves and water for volunteers at designated beach accesses. Health advisory issued for Morrison Springs

Update June 28: swimming advisory rescinded June 26, 2012 – Due to a high level of bacteria found in routine monitoring of Morrison Springs, the Walton County Health Department has issued a swimming advisory for the Morrison Springs bathing place. A  enterococcus level of 48 was found along the swimming area at the springs.
