April 5, 2016 – The Point Washington State Forest Longleaf Greenway Western Trail, also known as the Satinwood Trail will be closed to hikers/bikers for the next few weeks. Water health advisory issued for Grayton Beach

March 29, 2016 – The Florida Department of Health in Walton County (DOH-Walton) conducts regularly scheduled saltwater beach water quality monitoring at seven sites through the Healthy Beaches Monitoring Program. Samples are collected from March through the end of October. Volunteers needed for Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance Operation Restoration

OPERATION RESTORATION is a collaborative effort between CBA and community volunteers to restore degraded shorelines in Choctawhatchee Bay by constructing oyster reefs made from recycled and fossilized oyster shell.
