Enjoy a walk and learn about birds with Bay County Audubon on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021 at Camp Helen State Park from 8 – 11 a.m.
They will have our choice of trails to accommodate those who can’t walk all the way to the beach. The outfall from Lake Powell attracts various shorebirds and waders. The woodland trails support the usual wintering birds around here and offer easy walking of less than 1 mile. Bring a snack and drinks as well as your binoculars and cameras.
Note: Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, our field trips will be adhering to recommended guidelines to prevent spread of the disease. If you are immunocompromised or have serious medical problems, you may not want to participate. If you have a fever, cough or other symptoms, please stay home. Masks are strongly recommended, at least for the first part of the trip where we gather to start our hike. Carpooling is not recommended, except, of course, by members of the same household. For that reason, all our trips are local. We hope to continue longer trips next season. You are advised to bring hand sanitizer and are asked not to share food, optics or other items. Our groups will consist of no more than 10 people. If we have more than that, we will break up into separate groups.
Park Fees
There is an honor entrance station. The fee is $4.00 per vehicle and $1.00 per bicyclist or pedestrian.
