The Friends of Camp Helen State Park are hosting a Saturday concert series. The concerts will be held in the lodge from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
On Sat., Feb. 21, Granville Automatic, a songwriting/performing duo of Vanessa Olivarez and Elizabeth Elkins, will be featured at Camp Helen. From Nashville, they make music from their “shared love of history, horses, and war,” bringing listeners Civil War battlefields and a tangle of haunting vocals and beautiful lyrics. Sounding like Lyle Lovett, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson, they’ve written together more than 90 songs–almost all of which tell stories from history.
