Ranger led kayak ecotour at Camp Helen State Park Sept. 5

Join a Camp Helen State Park Ranger for a leisurely 90-minute paddle on Lake Powell on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.

Lake Powell is the largest Coastal Dune Lake in North America. Learn about the history, natural communities and wildlife that make this Outstanding Florida Water so unique and important. This guided kayak tour will be enjoyable for individuals, families and groups. Must be 12 years of age or older and able to independently navigate their own kayak. Space is limited.

Advanced reservations are required to participate and can be done by calling Camp Helen State Park at (850) 233-5059. Fee is payable in cash only at the time of check in on September 5th and includes (single) watercraft rental, life jacket, paddle, entrance fee to park and a donation to the Friends of Camp Helen.

Additional Information: Watercraft from outside the park are not permitted. Be sure to bring sun protection and drinking water. Program is weather dependent. Please check the forecast prior to arrival. If there is a chance of inclement weather on program day, call the Park for further information. As with all water sports, there is a chance of getting wet so dress appropriately. Please help us keep the trip on schedule and arrive at the Visitors Center 15 minutes early to complete all payment and paperwork. Bring everything that you need with you to the Visitor Center.
