Public meeting regarding redevelopment plans for T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park Sept. 30

There will be an open-house format opportunity for the public to view park redevelopment plans for T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park from 12 Noon 0 6 p.m. EDT in Port St. Joe on Thurs., Sept. 30, 2021. The meeting will be held at St. Joseph Bay Buffer Preserve Visitor Center, 3915 State Road 30-A, Port St. Joe, FL. 32456

Attending staff will be available to discuss plan concepts and answer questions in a conversational setting. No formal presentation will be given.

Additionally, the public is invited to review and submit comments to the Division of Recreation and Parks at FLStateParkPlanning@FloridaDep.gov until Oct. 15, 2021.

Post-hurricane park redevelopment plans being discussed include:

  • Renovation of existing visitor access and support facilities parkwide.
  • Construction of replacement and new facilities.
  • Restoration of dunes and other natural features.
  • Plans for reopening day use access and overnight accommodations for visitors.
