Moonlight paddle on Lake Powell at Camp Helen State Park Oct. 2 and 3

Enjoy a moonlight paddle on Lake Powell, Florida’s largest coastal dune lake on Friday, Oct. 2, 2020 or Saturday, Oct. 3. The mostly quiet excursion from 7 – 9 p.m. will be led by a Park Ranger who will give visitors a unique opportunity to view one of the most ecologically diverse lakes in the world under a nearly full moon. The trip is approximately 2 hours and will begin with a brief safety review and interpretation on why coastal dune lakes are such a rare natural phenomenon. Participants must have previous experience kayaking and be 12 years of age or older. Space is limited; reservations are required. Call Camp Helen State Park at 850-233-5059.

Meet in Visitor Center 10 minutes prior to paddle.

Program is $30 per person, cash only/exact change. Fee includes watercraft rental, life jacket, paddle, glow stick, park admission fee and a donation to the Friends of Camp Helen State Park. Personal watercraft and gear are not permitted.
