Independence Day celebrations are limited this year, however there are a few around the Panhandle to enjoy. Here is the lineup:
July 3 – Boardwalk Beach Resort Hotel, Panama City Beach
Join the Boardwalk on July 3rd as they “Light Up the Gulf” with the beach’s largest private fireworks show. The magic happens after dark behind the Boardwalk Beach Resort condominium. With free live entertainment, contests and kids activities.

July 3 – Grand Lagoon, Panama City
Freedom Rocks fireworks will light up the sky once again, in celebration of our nation’s Independence Day. The fireworks will launch at 8:45 PM on Friday, July 3, 2020 from the middle of the of the Grand Lagoon near the marinas off of Thomas Drive. Watch the fireworks sparkle over the water from multiple businesses offering premium viewing and dining specials, as well as the fireworks cruises that provide a panoramic view of the show over the Grand Lagoon. Free parking is available at Capt. Anderson’s, Treasure Island, and Pirate’s Cove marinas.
Freedom Rocks fireworks are presented as part of Panama City Beach’s Real.Fun.Fourth. celebration and largely sponsored by the Tourist Development Council (TDC) and several independent businesses in the Grand Lagoon – Half Hitch Tackle, Treasure Island Marina, Pirate’s Cove Marina, Lighthouse Marina, Capt. Anderson’s Marina, Sheraton Panama City Beach Golf & Spa Resort, Hammerhead Fred’s, Dat Cajun Place, Kelley’s Beach Liquors, Patches, and Grand Lagoon Life.
July 4 – Baytowne Wharf Sandestin
Join in this 4th of July for Baytowne Wharf’s Red, White, and Baytowne celebration. Enjoy live music on the Events Plaza Stage at 7 pm, followed by a fireworks display that will light up the night sky at 9:15 pm. The event is free.
July 4 – Destin
The City of Destin will host their fireworks show promptly at 9 p.m. and can be seen over the Destin Harbor, East Pass. Spectators may tune in to Z96 (96.5 FM) for the simulcast music. Residents and visitors are highly encouraged to practice social distancing and other necessary precautions while gathering at the beaches, along the Destin Harbor and around the City of Destin. The city greatly appreciates the partnership with Compass Resorts and Z96 to make this event possible. In the event of inclement weather, the fireworks show will take place on Sunday, July 5th at 9 p.m. For more information please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 850-650-1241.
July 4 – Fort Walton Beach CANCELLED
CANCELLED – The City of Fort Walton Beach will celebrate Independence Day at the Landing on Saturday, July 4, 2020, from 5-9 p.m. The event is free to the public and includes live music and a fireworks show. Because of COVID-19, this year’s event will not include vendors or other activities. Spectators of the concert and fireworks show should practice social distancing and other necessary precautions while gathering at the Landing, anywhere Downtown and around the City.
Live music will kick off at 5 p.m. with Black Eyed Blonde, a local favorite, followed by 3HG from Biloxi, Mississippi. The City’s fireworks show will begin at approximately 8:45 p.m. The City is partnering with Downtown FWB businesses for this annual celebration so look for announcements from these businesses about their July 4th events.

July 4 – Niceville
The city of Niceville’s annual Fourth of July fireworks display is set to blast off at about 8:45 p.m. from a barge on Boggy Bayou.
Popular viewing areas include Lincoln Park and Shipyard Park in Valparaiso and Lions Park and Kiwanis Park in Niceville.
July 4 – Panama City Beach
Panama City Beach celebrates the 4th of July with the largest fireworks display on the Gulf Coast as fireworks are fired from the Russell-Fields City Pier and the M.B. Miller County Pier. 12213 Front Beach Rd., Panama City Beach, FL 32413
