Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), has approved eight license-free fishing days this year, two of which are coming up this weekend. On April 2 – 3, residents and visitors can go freshwater fishing in Florida without the state-required license.
“License-free holidays are a perfect opportunity to introduce novice anglers and out-of-towners to the world’s best fisheries, perpetuating the sport for generations to come. Fishing is a fun activity the whole family can do together, and we are grateful to Governor Scott and the FWC for their efforts to make sure everyone has an opportunity to enjoy Florida’s natural resources,” said Kellie Ralston who, as the Florida fisheries policy director for the American Sportfishing Association, is integral to the ASA’s Florida-based advocacy initiative – Keep Florida Fishing.
According to the FWC, there are four free freshwater fishing days and four free saltwater fishing days this year. Floridians should mark their calendars with the 2016 license-free dates listed below.
