Skydive of North Florida is hosting a special event March 18-20. Jump for the Rose is a benefit to help provide funding for The Rose, a non-profit organization which provides support for uninsured or underinsured women in the process of receiving cancer treatment.
The three-day event will offer skydiving opportunities to benefit The Rose. Licensed skydivers will have the chance to be on one of three donated loads (trips) sponsored by SunPath Products, Inc., and Parachute Technologies for a $10 donation, instead of the normal $26. But the skydiver must wear a pink bra on the skydive – all to show support for breast cancer research. Tandems will be available for $185. Go to the website, skydivenorthflorida.com to schedule.
Spectators are welcome to watch the skydivers for a $10 donation at the door. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. $5 lunch/$10 dinner will be offered with proceeds going to the JFTR.
Hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. March 18-20. Skydive North Florida is located at 5138 Co. Hwy, 0605, Defuniak Springs, FL 32433. Click here for directions.
About The Rose
The Rose is a non-profit, which provides support for uninsured or underinsured women about to receive cancer treatment. The clinic’s mission is to reduce deaths from breast cancer by providing screening, diagnostics and access to treatment for all women regardless of their ability to pay. Jump for the Rose was founded by cancer survivor and skydiver, Marian Sparks, who received support from The Rose when she needed treatment and has made a commitment to turn around and help other women not only survive, but live to the fullest.
