ArtsQuest comes to Grand Boulevard May 8-10

April 29, 2015

artsquestArtsQuest, a fine arts festival produced by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) and presented by Visit South Walton and Grand Boulevard announces the complete entertainment schedule for the 27th annual Mother’s Day weekend tradition scheduled for May 8-10 in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin’s Town Center.

This year, ArtsQuest is packed with nearly 200 exhibiting national and local artists, a public arts display featuring work by Justin Lyons, Sara Lierly and South Walton’s Artist of the Year Francisco Adaro, and fresh innovative culinary offerings from Bridgespan 14, in addition to a complete cash bar.

New to the festival, the nightly concert will expand to two nights this year featuring Boukou Groove on Friday, May 8 and the Sluetown Strutters on Saturday, May 9. ArtsQuest will be styled in a circus theme with traveling entertainment, jugglers, and stilt walkers, all inspired by featured Artist Amanda Bennett’s artwork.

The Grand Park Main Stage will feature continuous live musical performances for the entire family. 30A Dancewave, the Emerald Coast Theatre Company, The REP, 30A Ballet and the Ohana Institute will all perform in ArtsQuest’s “ImagiNation (where kids rule),” which also will feature arts activities and a student art exhibit.

ArtsQuest will be the setting for the exhibition of the inaugural Full Plate Project, CAA’s joint fundraiser and community-wide art project and fundraiser with Food for Thought Outreach. Plates painted by children and adults in the community will be sold with proceeds funding arts in education and food for children in need.

Festival hours are 12-7 pm on Friday, 10 am- 7pm on Saturday and 10am-6pm on Sunday.  The live music concerts will take place 7-9 pm Friday and Saturday.  Parking is available and abundant on site at Grand Boulevard. The festival is complimentary to the public, with a $5 suggested donation to the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County.
