More than 150 attendees enjoyed a Veterans Day Celebration under sunny skies at the Freeport Veterans Memorial Park on Nov. 11, 2013.
The event included tribute by Russ Barley, mayor of Freeport, presentation of Colors and raising of the Service Branch Flags by Walton High School Air Force ROTC, National anthem by Latilta Hughes, Military Branch songs by Amy Blizzard, keynote speaker Capt. Kathryn “Bonnie” Bonner USN (Ret), a sweet Americana song from Freeport Elementary School Choir, Taps and gun salute by Walton County Sheriff Office honor guard.
