Donations accepted until the end of August
During these economic times more and more families are struggling at the beginning of the school year. Here is one way you can help. A Back to School Supply Drive will be held for the whole month of August at the Coastal Library in South Walton. Don’t forget the weekend of August 12th is a tax free holiday for school clothes and supplies. Items can be dropped off during library hours from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday – Friday and Mondays 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. These items will be distributed to children in need at local schools. Items listed below are an example of things needed for the new school year. Many stores have these lists posted and they will also be available at the Coastal Library.
School items needed are: 64 count crayons, construction paper, primary writing tablet, primary journal by Mead (Wal-Mart has them) they are also called early creative story tablets. 10”x7.5” nylon pencil pouch, plastic school box, backpacks, bottle of white glue, package of pencil top erasers, package of washable markers, package pencils- Ticonderoga, three pronged solid color folders, glue sticks, pink pearl erasers, Fiskar scissors, boxes of Kleenex, pack skinny expo markers. hand held pencil sharpener with shavings container, primary composition notebooks, hand sanitizer, 24 pack crayons, box colored pencils, washable markers, and 24 Ticonderoga/woodbine pencils. Please, no fancy pencils, wide ruled papers, 3-ring binders, graph paper, colored folders, rulers, index cards, spiral notebooks.
