HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM EDT /NOON CDT/ TO 6 PM EDT /5 PM CDT/ MONDAY.

ANOTHER HOT DAY IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE REGION FOR MONDAY. THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPS & PARTICULARLY HIGH DEWPOINTS NEAR THE COAST WILL RESULT IN HEAT INDICES APPROACHING OR SURPASSING 110 DEGREES. THESE HEAT INDICES ARE STRESSFUL AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS TO THOSE WITH PLANS FOR PROLONGED OR STRENUOUS OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES.

THE NATL WEATHER SVC IN TALLAHASSEE HAS ISSUED A HEAT ADVISORY.WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM EDT /NOON CDT/ TO 6 PM EDT /5 PM CDT/ MONDAY.

 

* TEMP.AIR TEMPS WILL REACH 91 TO 95

DEGREES.WITH HEAT INDEX VALUES REACHING 108 TO 113 DEGREES.

 

* IMPACTS.PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO THIS HEAT CAN BE DANGEROUS IF  PROPER PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS.

 

A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT HEAT INDICES ARE EXPECTED TO PEAK BETWEEN 110 & 114 DEGREES. THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPS AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE POSSIBLE. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS.STAY IN AN AIR- CONDITIONED ROOM.STAY OUT OF THE SUN.& CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS.
