41st annual Wausau Possum Festival August 7

July 23, 2010

Head over to downtown Wausau  in Washington County for some possum fun!

Events include parade and possum auction, arts and crafts and live bluegrass and gospel music all afternoon. Be sure to try some possum stew, it is surprisingly good. Share in the laughs when local politicians and celebrities bid against each other for the rights to a live possum … really.

In addition, try a sample of a variety of unique southern foods. The most popular treat, being, well you guessed it … possum ice cream!

Round out the evening by attending the Saturday evening dance held at the world famous Possum Palace.
