Camp Helen State Park hosting movie, cookout, and more July 26

Date/time: Wednesday, July 26, 5:30 p.m. The fourth annual Movies & More series at Camp Helen State Park continues on Wednesday, June 28. The evening begin at 5:30 p.m. in the park’s Recreation Hall with a brief interpretive program led by a Camp Helen Park Ranger or other expert. Fire Rescue and Animal Shelter hosting open house in north Walton July 15

On Saturday, July 15th, Walton County Fire Rescue (WCFR) and the Walton County Animal Shelter (WCAS) will host a summer open house to help save lives. The event will take place at the Woodlawn Fire Station at 7363 U.S. Hwy. 331 S. from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. WCFR firefighters teamed up with the volunteers and staff at WCAS to put together a family-friendly event to help promote pet adoptions and provide families with a fun summer activity. Guided Kayak tour of Rocky Bayou July 14

Date/time: Friday July 14, 9 – 11 a.m. Join a Park Ranger for a unique opportunity to paddle Rocky Bayou. The paddle will go along the shoreline of Rocky Bayou to Rocky Creek and back to the park.
