Redfish regulations changing, FWC wants to hear what you think

At its April 13 meeting in Jupiter, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) approved a measure to lower the recreational red drum daily bag limit in the northwest red drum management zone (Escambia County through Fred Howard Park near Pasco County) from two fish to one fish per person. 2016 Gulf recreational red snapper state season set

 At its April 13 meeting in Jupiter, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) set the 2016 recreational red snapper season in Gulf of Mexico state waters. The 2016 season will open Saturdays and Sundays in May starting May 7. On May 28, the season will open continuously through July 10. Finally, the season will reopen for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in September and October, and on Labor Day. This would provide for a 78-day season in Gulf state...

Gulf World Marine Institute release three sea turtles into the Gulf of Mexico

Gulf World Marine Institute released two kemps ridley sea turtles and one green sea turtle into the Gulf of Mexico on April 13, 2016. The turtles were released at Inlet Beach. The turtles successfully completed recent rehabilitation. Eve, a kemps ridley sea turtle, was found stranded in Rosemary Beach in December.
