It was a perfect day outdoors for all explorers at the Sixth Annual Explore The Outdoors Festival. Hundreds of children and adults enjoyed a variety of activities along Black Creek at Live Oak Landing. Zombie 5K fun run and walk in DeFuniak Springs Oct. 31

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a Zombi 5K Fun Run and Walk in DeFuniak Springs Oct. 31. The event will start at 7 a.m. at the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, 752 Triple G Road, DeFuniak Springs. Runners get 3 flags. Survive by keeping at least one flag. Department of Health in Walton County issues rabies alert

Walton County – The Florida Department of Health in Walton County issued a rabies alert for the central part of Walton County, specifically the Freeport and Woodlawn areas. This is in response to a second fox that tested positive on Oct. 2, 2015. Volunteers needed for invasive plant removal

Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA) is seeking volunteers to assist with invasive plant removal. The Longleaf Alliance is partnering with CBA to cut down invasive Chinese tallow and mimosa trees and you will be helping haul the tree debris (limbs and cut up trunks) from participating properties to a collection point.
