Walton county fishing report for Oct. 8

Fishing is good! Choctawhatchee Bay area: Redfish and trout bite good right now. Both are feeding on gold spoons and shrimp. Believe it or not the trout are biting better on shrimp than lures right now, as well as biting on MirrOdine and Yozuri. River: bass and hybrids at the mouths of the river, biting on shrimp right now. Fish have gone off earthworms and biting wigglers. Hammack Farms corn maze in Bonifay offers good old fashioned family fun

Interested in enjoying some family fun this October and November? Head over to Hammack Farms in Bonifay for an afternoon or evening of corn maze fun and fall treats. Hammack Farms is owned and operated by Ryan and Aimee Hammack, who recently took over the 52 acre planted pine forest and converted the land. Freeport Middle School Fall Festival Oct. 10

Freeport Middle School Fall Festival will be held on Friday, October 10 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Freeport Middle School football field. Fun for the entire family with inflatables rock wall, fun booths, face painting, bake sale, glow sticks, ring toss,  duck pond, concessions/vendors, hay ride, family fun. Enter the Walton County Fair 2014 pumpkin decorating contest Oct. 4

Entry date and time: Saturday, October 4th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Walton County Fairgrounds. Rules: •  No carving or puncturing •  Contest is open to all children in Walton County. Preschool to 12th grade. •  Use sound pumpkins only.
